Executive Degree Programs

The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health offers executive style degree programs for working health professionals. The Master of Public Health for Health Professionals Program (MPHHP) is a two-year program designed for working professionals. Coursework and projects are scheduled on weekends and during the summer months. Courses are taught by School of Public Health faculty and practitioners in the healthcare community. Applicants are required to have three years of professional experience in healthcare. The MPHHP program is organized sequentially, with students taking courses together as a cohort throughout the two-year curriculum. Courses fall into three categories: Public Health core courses, departmental core courses, and program courses. In addition, a master's project or field study project is required. Currently, there are two departments that accept students into this program: the Department of Community Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Promotion and the Department of Health Services with a specialization in Health Services Management. For information on these programs please visit their websites.

From our students and alumni

The EMPH program at UCLA is recognized as the standard in higher healthcare education and, as such, attracts a large number of healthare professionals from a wide range of specialities.  This intensified my learing experience because sssues were discussed not just from a single point of view,  but from all points of view- and not just in the abstract, but in day-to-day reality.
