I chose UCLA not only because of its top tier reputation, its active and engaged professors, and a curriculum that I felt confident would give me the skills to succeed in public health, but also because of the research and extracurricular opportunities outside of the classroom that I felt confident would help me grow personally and professionally.  The fact that it's minutes from the beach with gorgeous weather didn't hurt either!
