What is Team FSPH?
Team FSPH is the running team of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. It includes students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends who come together to raise money for student fellowships for summer fieldwork while having fun and increasing fitness in connection with the LA Marathon. Runners can opt to run a full marathon (26.2 miles) or 5K.
I am a busy grad student/professional/parent/fill in the blank. How am I going to fundraise?
It’s a lot easier than you think! First, you will utilize a user-friendly, customizable online fundraising platform. This platform makes it easy to reach out to friends, family, colleagues, and others to ask them to donate. In addition, the friendly FSPH Development team will support you with fundraising tips, ideas, and strategies to help you succeed. Last year, virtually every runner on Team FSPH met the minimum fundraising goal. And some runners raised much more!
If I join Team FSPH, do I have to pay for my marathon registration?
If you are a student, FSPH will cover the cost of your registration.
How do I register?
**Registration is now closed**
All Team FSPH registrations must be done through the Fielding School. If you are interested in joining the team, please complete this form and we will follow up with you. Please do not register directly with the marathon.
I’ve never run more than a few miles at a time. Can I still join the team, and will I be able to finish?
Yes! A number of our past participants were new runners and succeeded in finishing the race. Walking/running is also a great option.
What are my training options?
You can train solo or join one of the training programs available through the marathon http://www.lamarathon.com/participant-info/la-road-runners.
This sounds great! Where can I get more information?
