- Dr. Beatriz Solis is a graduate of the UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health (MPH ’96, PhD ’07), president of the Fielding School of Public Health Alumni Association, and director of community health at The California Endowment.
- She has been appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to serve as interim director of the new Office of Strategic Partnerships, coordinating public and private efforts on various programs.
- To occupy this position, which pays $1 per year, Dr. Solis is on temporary loan from the California Endowment, where she is the director of health communities for the south region.
- In her new position, Dr. Solis will play a significant role in partnerships to fund initiatives sought out by Mayor Garcetti.
