Please join the Epidemiology Student Association and the Department of Epidemiology Task Force on Anti-Racism and Racial Justice for a panel discussion on "Building an Anti-Racist Health Community."

Panelists include David Hayes-Bautista, professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and director of the Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture, Felicia Hodge, professor at the Fielding School and the UCLA School of Nursing, and Dr. Keith Norris, professor at the UCLA Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research. They will address the following topics;

  • The impact of racism and systems of oppression on health and well-being of marginalized communities and how epidemiology, health sciences, and health policy should respond
  • How public health education, research, and practice can align with anti-racism and social justice
  • Insight and successes from their work with African American/Black, Latinx and Native American communities
