California's Health Benefit Exchange: Building the Infrastructure for Health Reform

Gerald Kominski, PhD
Professor, Department of Health Policy & Management
Associate Director, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research

Health Benefit Exchanges are one of the crucial elements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The responsibility for developing and operating these Exchanges fall primarily on state governments, which have so far demonstrated varying degrees of support for moving forward with this fundamental component of ACA. In this webinar, Dr. Gerald Kominski will focus on the purpose of the Exchanges, provide an update on federal regulations governing Exchanges, and provide a progress report on California's efforts, and the efforts of other states across the nation, in implementing health reform.

Dr. Kominski, one of the nation's leading experts in health policy, is a Professor in the Department of Policy & Management, and Director of the Health Economics and Evaluation Research Program at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research.

Continuing the Conversation webinars feature UCLA Fielding School of Public Health faculty discussing the most critical issues in  public health.
