The FSPH Career & Professional Development Office, the FSPH Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and The Public Health Training Program on Population Health Advocacy will host “Navigating Challenging Conversations on Racial Justice: A Focus on Advocacy and Positive Change.”

The goal of this workshop is to provide student, staff and faculty with strategies for communicating advocacy and social and racial justice issues with diverse stakeholders.

The facilitator, Fernando Rejon, Executive Director of the Urban Peace Institute, will discuss reading the room and phrasing arguments for different audiences to be impactful for students—especially when those stakeholders are all needed to be on board to make change and have drastically different perspectives on the relevant issues (e.g., community members, formerly gang-involved individuals, law enforcement, and policy makers).

This event is open to FSPH students, staff and faculty only.
