Jonathan Fielding

Jonathan Fielding is a Professor of Health Policy and Management, and Pediatrics. Dr. Fielding teaches the Determinants of Health course and participates as faculty lecturer in several other Department courses.

Mark A. Malek

Mark Malek is Director of the Infection Control and Epidemiology and Employee Health Units for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) jail system. Dr. Malek completed a surgical internship at Stanford University, residency in Preventive Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the Respiratory and Enteric Viruses Branch, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Atlanta, GA) from 2004-2006. His major research contributions have been in the areas of viral disease epidemiology and prevention in the U.S.

Deborah Glik

Deborah Glik

Deborah C. Glik, Sc.D. FAAHB, is a Full Professor at the UCLA School of Public Health. She received her B.A. from Barnard College, served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa, and completed her doctorate in behavioral sciences and public health at Johns Hopkins University in 1985.  She taught at the University of South Carolina before joining UCLA in 1991. She specializes in the planning, and assessment and evaluation of public health education campaigns, material development and popular media projects.
