Peter R. Kerndt

Dr. Kerndt received a B.S. in Biology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his MD from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. He completed a rotating Internship at San Francisco General Hospital in San Francisco, California and an Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Medical Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Roger Detels

Roger Detels

Roger Detels M.D., M.S., Distinguished Research Professor of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, began his research career at the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit in Taipei, Taiwan in 1966.  In 1969 he joined the research staff of the National Institute of Communicable Diseases and Stroke.

Virginia C. Li

Virginia C. Li, Ph. D., is Professor Emerita in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Public Health. She was born in China and came to the United States as a teen. She received her baccalaureate and masters degree in Foods and Nutrition. When she was a mother of three young children, she returned to graduate school and received her masters and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina School of Public Health.

Chandra Ford

Dr. Chandra L. Ford is Professor of Community Health Sciences and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice & Health in the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
