Michelle S. Keller

Dr. Keller is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department in Health Policy and Management. Her primary appointment is at the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Keller uses methods from epidemiology, behavioral economics, and sociology to examine how clinicians, patients, and caregivers make decisions about medications, surgeries, and treatment plans – and how informatics and health system interventions can be used to improve clinician decision-making.

Matthew J. Mimiaga

Matthew J. Mimiaga is tenured Professor of Epidemiology at UCLA and Senior Research Scientist at The Fenway Institute, Fenway Health. He is also Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology and Behavioral & Social Sciences at Brown University.

Xi Zhu

Xi Zhu, PhD, is Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Dr. Zhu received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on micro and macro organizational behaviors in healthcare delivery systems.

Michael Ong

Michael Ong, MD PhD, is a Professor in Residence of Medicine & Health Policy and Management at UCLA. He is Chief of the Hospitalist Division at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Dr. Ong is a practicing general internist. His research interests focus on improving the delivery of appropriate and efficient health care by general internal medicine physicians. His research has applied this focus in several areas of general medicine, including hospital-based care, mental health, and tobacco control. Dr.

Isomi Miake-Lye

Isomi Miake-Lye is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, and a researcher at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. She has expertise in evidence synthesis, mixed methods research, implementation science, and organizational behavior. Her research focuses on how the organization of health systems affects the use of evidence and evidence-based practices. She is Associate Director of the VA Evidence Synthesis Program in West Los Angeles and teaches Program Evaluation courses at UCLA.

Dvora Joseph Davey

Dr. Joseph Davey's research focuses on how best to prevent and treat HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in peri-conception, pregnant women and couples, as well as other vulnerable populations. She has expertise in study design and use of epidemiological methods to inform interventions aimed at reducing the burden of HIV and related diseases on women, children, and families.

Sangeeta Ahluwalia

Sangeeta C. Ahluwalia is Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management at UCLA and a Senior Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation. She teaches the Politics of Health Policy (HS 287) course for students in the Health Policy and Management Program. 

Elizabeth Yano

Elizabeth (Becky) Yano, PhD, MSPH is Adjunct Professor of Health Policy & Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and Director of the VA HSR&D Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation & Policy at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Trained in health care epidemiology, biostatistics and health policy at UCLA and RAND, Dr. Yano has over 30 years’ experience in health services research and program evaluation.
