Pouran Faghri

Professor Faghri joined UCLA Department of Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Connecticut, where she was a Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences and Director of the Center for Environmental Health and Health Promotion. She had joint appointments as professor of Biomedical Engineering, School of Engineering, and professor of Public Health,  School of Medicine.

William J. McCarthy

Dr. McCarthy has devoted most of his 30-year career to intervention studies designed to encourage members of special populations to adhere to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (African American adult women, low-income middle school students, low-income patients of community health centers) and to be smokefree (WIC participants, aerospace workers, Korean and South Asian immigrants, residents of homeless shelters).

Deborah Rohm Young

Deborah Rohm Young, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland. Her research interests focus on physical activity behavior and its association with cardiovascular disease prevention. Dr. Young has a primary interest in developing and evaluating community-based physical activity interventions, particularly in population subgroups that are known to be underactive. She also has expertise in evaluating determinants of physical activity and physical activity assessment issues.
