"The Affordable Care Act: Will 2014 Finally be the Turning Point?" 

Gerald F. Kominksi is a Professor of Health Policy and Management and Director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. His current research interests focus on evaluating the effects of the Affordable Care Act on insured and uninsured populations. He has specialized in studies evaluating the costs of health care programs and technologies, with a special emphasis on public insurance programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers' Compensation. Dr. Kominski is currently working on the Board of the California Health Benefit Exchange, known as Covered California, to determine eligibility and likely enrollment in the subsidized marketplace starting this year.

Dr. Kominski discusses current and future enrollment numbers, described trends in public opinion around the law, and called upon the next generation of public health leaders to expand access to all.
