Dylan Roby, PhD

With new coverage options being made available by 2014 in California, how will the state's insurance market change and where will the currently uninsured end up?

Given California's interest in expanding Medi-Cal and developing a robust Health Insurance Exchange, a team of UCLA and UC Berkeley researchers have developed a model to understand shifts in coverage, where the newly insured will go, and who will remain uninsured.

Dr. Roby will discuss findings from the UC Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education and the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research's California Simulation of Insurance Markets (CalSIM) model, which was created to inform planning and predict California's response to health reform efforts.

Dr. Roby is  Director, Health Economics and Evaluation Research Program, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research
Assistant Professor, Health Policy & Management
Associate Director, MPH Program in Health Policy and Management UCLA Fielding School of Public Health
