U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Community Health Sciences MPH student Jaime Lopez was selected as one of 58 Pat Tillman Military Scholars from a nationwide pool of 7,500 applicants. The scholars will receive $1.4 million in scholarships to pursue their higher education and continue their service in the fields of medicine, law, business, government, education, technology and the arts.

Jaime served two tours in Iraq at the outset of the war, an experience that colors his goals as a public health student. He is interested in addressing the health needs of immigrant farm-working families like his own.
