Dr. Michael Prelip, professor of community health sciences, has been named the school’s first associate dean for practice across the life course. In his new role, he will lead FSPH efforts to enhance public health practice opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni – bridging the gap between learning and application, as well as between research and application.

Prelip, who joined the Fielding School faculty in 1996, directs the field component of the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in the Department of Community Health Sciences and is director of the school’s MPH for Health Professionals Program. He has also led numerous National Institutes of Health-funded research and training programs focusing on health disparities.
