The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments next week in the deeply divisive “Hobby Lobby case.” The religious owners of the craft chain, and other plaintiffs, say the Affordable Care Act violates their religious freedom by requiring them to buy certain kinds of contraception insurance for their employees.

Dean Emeritus Linda Rosenstock chaired the Institute of Medicine committee that reported how contraceptives reduce unwanted pregnancies and, in turn, abortions, and how many women cannot afford contraceptives on their own. She talks to PBS about the benefits of increasing access to contraceptives.
