The BBC interviewed Dr. Robert Kim-Farley, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health professor of epidemiology and community health sciences, about the risk coronavirus poses to pregnant women, and the importance of being vaccinated.

“Pregnant women are certainly at higher risk … 97% of the women in hospitals (with COVID) who are pregnant are unvaccinated,” Kim-Farley said. “This group is now recognized as a high priority because they suffer from high rates of hospitalization, high rates of serious disease, and even death.”
