Bloomberg News interviewed Dr. Anne Rimoin, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health professor of epidemiology and the Gordon-Levin Endowed Chair in Infectious Diseases and Public Health, for the "Balance of Power" program (begins at 25:04) about the state of the pandemic in the United States.

“What we are starting to see, in many places here in the United States, is we’ve seen an uptick in reported cases,” Rimoin said. “What we are seeing, though, is a decoupling of the cases and hospitalizations; hospitalizations are still down, but with that caveat being that we always see hospitalizations as a lagging indicator, so I think the next couple of weeks are going to be very telling in terms of where we are right now in the United States.”

Rimoin was also interviewed about the implications of long COVID.
