It’s time to get serious about a universal flu vaccine, Dr. Jonathan Fielding says
In a Feb. 20 column for the U.S. News and World Report, FSPH Professor-in-Residence Dr. Jonathan Fielding discusses the urgent need for government funding to help develop a universal flu vaccine in light of a seasonal flu outbreak claiming thousands of lives nationwide.

The New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof quoted Richard Jackson, professor emeritus of environmental health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, in a Feb. 23 column about the health effects of everyday chemical exposure:

“You should not have to be a Ph.D toxicologist to be safe from so many of the chemicals in use," Jackson says. "So much of what we are exposed to is poorly tested and even less regulated.”
