For-profit dialysis provider charges private insurers 4 times more than government payers
ScienceDaily featured new research from the Fielding School of Public Health’s UCLA Center for Health Policy Research about the rate at which private insurers pay for patients’ dialysis treatments versus government insurance programs.
Diane Garcia-Gonzales, PhD, a postdoctoral-scholar at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, was quoted in a NM Political Report article about recent findings by Gonzales and Michael Jerrett, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, which highlighted that the closer residents were to oil and gas facilities, the more likely they were to experience health problems.
