Duties: 

The UCLA Administrative Fellowship is a challenging and rewarding twelve-month program designed to provide qualified young leaders with hospital management and administration training in all aspects of an academic medical center. As a Fellow, you will attend various executive leadership meetings, be involved in an array of enterprise-wide projects and initiatives, and lead different projects for the organization. The Fellowship is project-based and action-oriented. You will be encouraged to learn about all aspects of health care delivery. With our flexible structure, you can tailor your experiences around specific areas of interest in addition to the needs of the organization. Each project will have a sponsor who will work with you on project definition, execution, and dissemination of results. Potential projects will involve many different services, departments, and functions across a variety of areas, including:Hospital Operations Finance Quality/Safety Performance Excellence As a UCLA Administrative Fellow, you will have an exceptional opportunity to gain both the knowledge and experience necessary to meet the challenges facing today’s health care industry. Our Chief Operating Officer, Shannon O'Kelley, is the primary preceptor of the Fellowship. During your Fellowship, you will serve as a member of Shannon O'Kelley’s senior leadership team. At the conclusion of your journey at UCLA, you will have gained marketable core competencies in four major areas: Healthcare administration knowledge, including operational planning and system improvement in a hospital, clinic, and academic setting Interpersonal and communication skills while working with physician and administrative colleagues on various projects Professionalism and leadership skills Analytical and critical thinking skills, business planning and financial analysis

Qualifications: 

HOW TO APPLY If you will complete your Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or Public Health from an accredited program during the 2014-2015 school year, you are a candidate for the UCLA Administrative Fellowship. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in a hospital or health care environment.
