Office of Research
The office provides research-related support and specializes in the preparation and submission of large, interdisciplinary center and training grants.

The Office of Research at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health provides research-related support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students and specializes in the preparation and submission of large, interdisciplinary center and training grants.
As nationally and internationally renowned public health scholars, innovators, and practitioners, FSPH researchers receive considerable federal, state, and private funding to support wide-ranging research-related activities. Working with students, staff, and other faculty both within and outside the school, they engage in projects from bench science and applied research to policy analysis and community-based local and international projects.
Because large interdisciplinary center and training grants require significant preparation for both pre- and post-award processes, the Office of Research provides additional support to faculty and their administrative units.
The Office of Research also aids faculty and staff — especially newer researchers —in navigating the public health grants arena with outreach and training opportunities; provides curated and customized lists of current funding opportunities; convenes seminars to disseminate best practices and new research initiatives; manages the limited submission opportunity process at FSPH; and works closely with its counterparts at the department, center, and central campus levels.
As a central resource for grant-and contract-related information, the Office of Research offers a host of resources on research funding opportunities, policies and procedures, institutional review board requirements, and frequently used forms:

UCLA has subscriptions to a variety of databases of funding opportunities for use by UCLA Fielding faculty and staff. Some of these databases have funding alert programs that can be customized so that the user receives only solicitation notices that meet their field of study.
