Samuel Sessions

Dr. Samuel Sessions is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and at the Department Health Policy and Management in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. He has interests in health policy, with a focus on health care finance, public health, and the economics of health care and public health services.  Before entering medical school, Dr. Sessions practiced tax law in a large law firm in New York City. He later served as Chief Tax Counsel to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and then as Deputy Assistant (Tax Policy) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He entered medical school following his service at the Treasury. Dr. Sessions’ goal in his research is to bring his experience in public policy to bear on issues related to health care and public health.
