Lara Khouri

Lara Khouri is Chief Executive Officer of Miller Children's & Women's Hospital, a 350-bed teaching hospital dedicated to advanced pediatric and women’s healthcare. A nationally recognized healthcare executive, Khouri has built her career at the intersection of operational excellence, strategic growth, academic medicine, public policy and healthcare transformation.


Prior to joining Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Khouri served for a decade as President and Chief Operating Officer of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where she oversaw enterprise-wide strategic, operational and administrative functions. During her tenure, CHLA achieved top-ten national rankings, significant growth in market share and revenue, expansion of clinical and research programs, and increased regional and national influence. She led the development of new clinical and research initiatives and helped establish a cross-continuum system of care serving children across Southern California and beyond. She also played a leading role in federal and state advocacy efforts that expanded investment in pediatric healthcare, including behavioral health services.


Earlier in her career, Khouri held leadership roles at Boston Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she focused on integrated care delivery, value-based payment models and population health innovation.


Khouri has served as a trusted advisor and board member for numerous healthcare and community organizations, including the American Hospital Association, Children’s Hospital Association and the California Department of Health Care Services. Since 2017, she has served as adjunct faculty at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, teaching healthcare strategy and finance. Previously, she served as adjunct faculty at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.


Khouri earned her MBA and MPH from Columbia University and undergraduate degrees in geography and economics from George Washington University.
