Dr. Mario Ricardo Calderon is a physician executive and educator with over 25 years experience in public health, workforce/leadership development, and international development in over 20 countries. Dr. Calderon currently works as Medical Access & Health Economics Manager in Central America and the Caribbean for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. He has held various professional positions ranging from Country Director in El Salvador, Honduras and Ecuador, to Regional Director in Latin America and the Caribbean, to Area Health Officer in Los Angeles County and Adjunct Associate Professor at USC. He is a recipient of numerous awards and honors for outstanding leadership, innovation and service, and is a published author and editor. Dr. Calderon earned his MPH in Health Policy and Management in 1984.
