Research, Innovation & Impact Day

An opportunity for community members to convene, share research and practice successes and challenges, and forge new paths together.

Join Dean Ron Brookmeyer and Associate Dean for Research James Macinko for UCLA Fielding Research, Innovation & Impact Day on Friday, April 24!

UCLA Fielding’s Research, Innovation & Impact Day — an all-day event that was first held in 2023 — includes faculty experts sharing their research and practice innovations; the Student Impact Poster Showcase, which highlights work led by master’s and doctoral students; and dedicated time throughout the day to connect with colleagues.

UCLA Fielding faculty will present their work across four focus areas: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Powering Public Health; Combating Chronic and Infectious Diseases; Championing Health Equity; and Protecting Health in a Changing Physical Environment. Faculty presenters were selected by a program committee with representatives from each academic department. Dr. Erica Pan, Director and State Public Health Officer of the California Department of Public Health, will give the keynote address.

Posters by UCLA Fielding students will be on display throughout the event, highlighting their public health research and practice work.

When the panels end at 3:00 PM, we will gather for light refreshments and to celebrate the incredible contributions of our community in #ResearchPowersProgress. We hope you will join us!
