UCLA Fielding School of Public Health hosts Research, Innovation & Impact Day, and 60th Birthday Celebration
On Friday, April 21, nearly 200 UCLA Fielding School of Public Health community members gathered for two events hosted by the school in celebration of its 60th anniversary.
Research, Innovation & Impact Day — which ran from early morning to midafternoon and was held on campus at the California Nano Systems Institute — included 15 UCLA Fielding faculty presenters and five faculty moderators showcasing research and practice innovations targeting infectious diseases, climate change’s impact on public health, health equity, big data, and communicating public health. The UCLA Fielding Student Impact Poster Showcase was also a highlight of the event, featuring research and practice work led by the school’s master’s and doctoral students.
UCLA Fielding’s 60th Birthday Celebration began soon after the Research, Innovation & Impact Day event came to a close, and was held in the university’s Court of Sciences. UCLA Fielding’s faculty, students, staff, and friends gathered at the outside event to celebrate six decades of impact and toasted with Dean Ron Brookmeyer, Dr. Jonathan Fielding, and Mrs. Karin Fielding to building a healthier future together.
