Ozzie Martinez

Ozzie Martinez serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of Kaiser Permanente South Bay, where he oversees the strategy, operations, and performance of a large and diverse healthcare organization. He is a seasoned healthcare leader and innovator with over 25 years of experience. He leads a team of over 5,000 employees and physicians who deliver high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to more than 270,000 members and surrounding communities.

Mr. Martinez has a long and distinguished healthcare career. He began his professional journey at the Veterans Affairs Health System, where he learned the importance of providing high-quality, patient-centered care to those who have served our nation. He joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002 and developed the Proactive Office Encounter program, which utilizes data and technology to enhance patient health and satisfaction. The program is a national model of clinical excellence and preventive care. Mr. Martinez believes that healthcare is a human right and a social justice issue. He has a vision of healthcare excellence, innovation and transformation and fosters a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. He is a strong partner and works to improve the health of his members and communities, especially those who are marginalized and vulnerable.

He is an Upsilon Phi Delta National Health Administrator Honor Society member, a board member of the UCLA Health Policy and Management Alumni Association, and a recipient of the Ira Alpert Service Award for his alumni contributions. Mr. Martinez holds a degree in Psychology from Chapman University, a Master of Public Health from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and an executive leadership certificate from the Harvard Business School.
