Paul Viviano
Paul S. Viviano is a healthcare leader and a prominent national voice advocating for child health. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) since late 2015, he has led the organization to be named among the top 10 hospitals in the nation on the prestigious U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll as well as one of the top 10 hospitals in the world for children by Newsweek. CHLA is home to one of the largest pediatric residency and fellowship training programs in the country and is a national leader in advancing care and research discoveries for children. Viviano advances the cause of child health regionally and nationally. He serves as Chair of the Public Policy Committee of the national Children’s Hospital Association. He is also a board member for the California Children’s Hospital Association (CCHA) and represents the CCHA on the California Hospital Association Board’s Executive Committee. Additionally, he is a board member of Solutions for Patient Safety, a national consortium that sets clinical standards for the nation’s children’s hospitals. Viviano has deep expertise in health care. Before joining CHLA, he served as the CEO of the UC San Diego Health System and Associate Vice Chancellor of UC San Diego Health Sciences. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of Alliance HealthCare Services, the largest provider of advanced outpatient diagnostic imaging services and radiation oncology services in the United States. Viviano currently serves as the Chair of the Loyola Marymount University Board of Trustees.
