MPH Degrees: Students who wish to apply for admission to our graduate program for the 2021-2022 academic year are not required to take the GRE or submit a GRE score report as part of their application package. However, students may voluntarily submit GRE test scores and they will be reviewed as part of the holistic application consideration. The applications with GRE scores will not be given greater weight than those that do not include scores.
MS & PhD Degrees: GRE requirements for the MS and PhD degrees vary by department and can be found here.
Thank you for your interest in applying to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
While the process can seem overwhelming, if you follow the steps and checklist closely, and adhere to the deadlines, your application process will be smooth. Please review all the materials prior to starting your process, and note that:
The application priority due date for Fall 2021 is December 1, 2020. Early applications are encouraged, to ensure timely receipt of all required documentation. Applications received after the December 1st deadline may be considered, but will have reduced opportunities for admission, financial support, and housing.
There are three sections to the application process: 1) the online application thru SOPHAS (the common application for public health schools), 2) the online UCLA Graduate Division application, and 3) materials sent directly to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Please refer to the application checklist for specific details about each section.
Once all your application materials have been received and processed you will receive an e-mail notice from the Fielding School of Public Health’s Student Affairs Office that your application is complete and being forwarded to the department for review. If you are missing documents, you will be notified that your application is incomplete with a request for you to forward the necessary documents.
Please note, incomplete applications will not be forwarded to the department for review by the admissions committee.
