Thank you for your interest in applying to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
While the process can seem overwhelming, if you follow the steps and checklist closely, and adhere to the deadlines, your application process will be smooth. Please review all the materials prior to starting your process.
Application for admission to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health is for the Fall quarter only.
Applicants can only apply to one department and degree program.
There are five departments and one interdepartmental degree program within Fielding School of Public Health.
The School offers the following degrees: MPH, MS, DrPH, and PhD. (please note: DrPH is offered in the department of Biostatics only).
The application priority due date for the 2018-2019 academic year is December 1, 2018. Early applications are encouraged, to ensure timely receipt of all required documentation. Applications received after the December 1st deadline may be considered, but will have reduced opportunities for admission, financial support, and housing.
There are three sections to the application process: 1) the online application thru SOPHAS (the common application for public health schools), 2) the online UCLA Graduate Division application, and 3) materials sent directly to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Please refer to the application checklist for specific details about each section.
Once all your application materials have been received and processed you will receive an e-mail notice from the Fielding School of Public Health’s Student Affairs Office that your application is complete and being forwarded to the department for review. If you are missing documents, you will be notified that your application is incomplete with a request for you to forward the necessary documents.
Please note, incomplete applications will not be forwarded to the department for review by the admissions committee.
