Rachel Hornstein, who has devoted her career to public service, is currently a Health Policy Analyst in the National Center for Health Statistics CDC, where her research focuses on data collection methodology, measurement of health and functioning, and health services. Ms. Hornstein previously served in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and in the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, where she helped monitor and inform policies to reduce tobacco consumption, among other issues. Before entering federal service, she was a health policy advisor for President Obama’s 2012 Campaign.
