Mark S. Litwin is professor of Health Policy & Management, Urology, and Nursing and serves as chair of the Department of Urology in the School of Medicine. In addition to teaching and mentoring students in HPM, he is a practicing urologic oncologist. Dr. Litwin is a translational population scientist who teaches and conducts research in quality of care, health-related quality of life, medical outcomes, medical decision-making, costs and resource utilization, patient preferences, and health care access.

Dr. Beate Ritz joined the faculty of the School of Public Health at UCLA in 1995 and is Professor of Epidemiology with co-appointments in the Environmental Health department at the UCLA School of Public Health and in Neurology, UCLA School of Medicine; she is a member of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH), the Southern California Environmental Health Science Center (SCEHSC), co-directed the NIEHS-funded UCLA Center for Gene-Environment Studies of Parkinson's disease and is the Interim Director for the APDA Center of Excellence in Parkinson's Disease R

Professor of Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) and a faculty member of the UCLA Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH), Dr. Shane Que Hee came to the Department in 1989 from the University of Cincinnati where he had been Assistant and Associate Professor since 1978. As of 2023, he had 238 peer-reviewed publications including 138 in peer-reviewed journals, 88 book chapters, 4 books, six EPA criteria documents,153 national & international meeting presentations, and 66 keynote addresses at international and national meetings.

Michael Ong, MD PhD, is a Professor in Residence of Medicine & Health Policy and Management at UCLA. He is currently the Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development, and was the Hospitalist Chief from 2018-2022, at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. He also is the Desert Pacific Healthcare Network (VISN 22) Research Officer, overseeing research at the 8 VA facilities in Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Dr. Ong is a practicing general internist.

Dr. Leeka Kheifets is a Professor of Epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health. She is widely known for her work in environmental and occupational epidemiology, and currently serves on several international and national committees that advise governments on environmental policy, including the Scientific Expert Group of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).

Dr. Christie Younghae Jeon, ScD, is an Epidemiologist and Associate Professor at Cedars-Sinai Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Adjunct Associate Professor at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. The overarching goal of her research program is to develop prevention and early detection strategies for pancreatic and gastric cancers. Of specific interest is understanding the role of pancreatitis, diabetes and infections in these cancers.

Dr. Joann G. Elmore is a professor of health policy and management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine, in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She also serves as Director of the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program. She is a national leader in academic general internal medicine and has a distinguished career as an investigator, mentor, administrator and educator.

Dr. Jacobs is a gastroenterologist and scientist studying the role of intestinal microbes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other disorders. He subsequently received his MD from Harvard Medical School, graduating magna cum laude in a special field. During college and medical school, he trained in an immunology laboratory studying rheumatoid arthritis with funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
