Dr. Marissa Seamans, PhD, MSPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Seamans’ research focuses on the intersection of social epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology to address substance use and mental health. Dr. Christie Younghae Jeon, ScD, is an Epidemiologist and Associate Professor at Cedars-Sinai Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Adjunct Associate Professor at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. The overarching goal of her research program is to develop prevention and early detection strategies for pancreatic and gastric cancers. Of specific interest is understanding the role of pancreatitis, diabetes and infections in these cancers.

Dr. W. Scott Comulada, DrPH, is Professor-in-residence in the UCLA Departments of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and Health Policy and Management, Director of the Semel Institute Center for Community Health, a statistician, and a public health researcher. His work focuses on the development and evaluation of AI-enhanced digital health interventions that incorporate chatbots and virtual reality.

Dr. Jingyi Jessica Li is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Her specific appointments are in the Department of Statistics (primary) and the Departments of Biostatistics, Computational Medicine, and Human Genetics (secondary) at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also a faculty member in the Interdepartmental Ph.D. Program in Bioinformatics.

Mia Hashibe, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and Member of the Cancer Control and Survivorship Program at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She also has a joint appointment in the Division of Digestive Diseases. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Japanese at UCLA and her MPH and PhD in Epidemiology degrees from the UCLA School of Public Health. After obtaining her PhD, she held a postdoctoral fellow and scientist position at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France.
