Dr. Javanbakht received her BA in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, her MPH in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Yale University, and her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining the faculty at UCLA in 2006, Dr. Javanbakht served as an epidemiologist for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Sexually Transmitted Disease Program.

Dr. Jacobs is a gastroenterologist and scientist studying the role of intestinal microbes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other disorders. He graduated magna cum laude with highest honors from Harvard University with an AB in biochemistry. He subsequently received his MD from Harvard Medical School, graduating magna cum laude in a special field. During college and medical school, he trained in an immunology laboratory studying rheumatoid arthritis with funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Dr. Anne L. Coleman, M.D., Ph.D. is the Fran and Ray Stark Professor of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Institute, David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, and Professor of Epidemiology at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She is the Director for the UCLA Center for Eye Epidemiology, the Mobile Eye Clinic, and the Center for Community Ophthalmologists and Vision Health. She is a member of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Ophthalmic Devices Panel, the U.S.

Dr. Li joined UCLA in 2019. He shares a position between the Fielding School of Public Health, Environmental Health Sciences Department and the School of Nursing, with a joint-appointment in the Fielding School of Public Health, Epidemiology Department. Before his appointment at UCLA, Dr. Li had been working in China and Germany with extensive experience on occupational health. He is an active member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) Scientific Committees on Cardiology in Occupational Health, and on Work Organisation and Psychosocial Factors.

Dr. Liwei Chen is a Professor (tenured) in the Department of Epidemiology at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.  Dr. Chen’s research mainly research area is cardiometabolic disease epidemiology, including the etiology and prevention of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. In particular, her research focuses on 1) lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity; 2) the life-course perspective of cardiometabolic diseases for women; 3) maternal and child health; and 4) health disparities in cardiometabolic diseases. Dr. Krause is the Director of the NIOSH Southern California Education and Research Center and Professor Emeriti in Environmental Health Sciences at UCLA. Before his appointment at UCLA, Dr. Krause has been associate professor in residence in the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine of the Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. He received his medical degree and a doctoral degree in orthopedic medicine from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and a doctoral degree in epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley.
