Dr. Jean Balgrosky’s career in health information systems and technology leadership and entrepreneurship spans 30 years as a chief information officer (CIO) in health care at Scripps Health in San Diego, Holy Cross Health System (Trinity Health System), and now MD Revolution. In addition, she is Founder of Bootstrap Venture Partners, investing in and nurturing innovative digital health information technology start-up companies.
The Department of Health Policy and Management in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the Department of Public Policy in the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs offer a concurrent degree program whereby students can work for the MPP in Public Policy and the MPH. Students must complete the program requirements for both degrees. Naomi Zewde is a scholar of public policy. She studies how public institutions can deliver health, medical care, and economic security across the economic distribution, and how we can directly compress the distribution.
Deborah Freund is a health economist, former President of Claremont Graduate University, Provost at Syracuse University, and Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty at Indiana University. She is now an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at UCLA and a Research Full Professor at Claremont Graduate University. The focus of her research is Medicaid managed care, Pharmacoeconomics, health insurance, health outcomes, and disparities.
Dr. Lu is an expert in the biopharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical economics. He is the director of the UCLA Seminar on Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy.
