To celebrate the UCLA School of Public Health’s 50th Anniversary, one of our esteemed faculty members will deliver the 37th Annual Lester Breslow Distinguished Lecture and has been named 
Dean's Distinguished Scholar for 2011.

Dr. Ron Brookmeyer is a professor of biostatistics at the UCLA School of Public Health.  Brookmeyer’s research is at the interface of biostatistics and epidemiology.  He has developed methods for tracking the course of the global HIV/AIDS epidemic and is actively researching the development of improved methods for estimating global HIV incidence.

Brookmeyer’s lecture will highlight the role of statistical thinking and the science of public health in addressing the challenges of HIV/AIDS.
