The Los Angeles Times interviewed Dr. Michael Jerrett, professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, about risks to public health in the aftermath of an industrial fire in Los Angeles.

"Michael Jerrett, an environmental health professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, said his concern is the composition of materials emitted when the building burned. 'These contain many particularly toxic components,” Jerrett said, “and we know little about how these mixtures affect health.' ”
