U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 list of the Best Public Health Schools ranks the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (UCLA Fielding) at number 6 (tied) in the country.

This year's rankings include 224 public health schools and programs. In addition to school-level rankings, five specialties were assessed — UCLA Fielding is ranked in the top 10 in every category.

"I am extremely pleased that the 2026 U.S News & World Report rankings for the Best Public Health Schools acknowledge the excellence of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s faculty, students, and staff. Although the methodology of the rankings is imperfect, it is an honor to be recognized by our academic public health peers,” said UCLA Fielding School of Public Health dean and distinguished professor of biostatistics Dr. Ron Brookmeyer. “UCLA Fielding, which has risen in these rankings from #11 to #6 (tied) in the last seven years, provides public health students with cutting edge training from world-renowned faculty and the opportunity to meaningfully engage in research and fieldwork here in Los Angeles and around the globe. The success of UCLA Fielding is due to the commitment of our faculty, students, staff, alumni, partners, friends, and supporters.”

UCLA’s unified campus is an ideal environment for multidisciplinary collaboration — the schools of public health, medicine, law, nursing, management, public policy, dentistry, engineering and more are all co-located — and Los Angeles is a model setting to address public health challenges confronting our global community today. Home to a broad range of industries as well as nearly 10 million residents who speak an estimated 224 languages, Los Angeles offers unparalleled opportunities for public health teaching, research, and service.
