Join the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health for the 50th Lester Breslow Distinguished Lecture on Wednesday, April 23, from 12 pm – 1 pm PT, via Zoom. The event will be hosted by the dean of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, Dr. Ron Brookmeyer and feature Dr. Roshan Bastani delivering her lecture, "Building the Evidence for Evidence-Based Practice."

Data from the new California Health Interview Survey, from the Fielding School's UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, show associations between gambling and a risk of poor health outcomes as well as mental health problems.

Differences in race and ethnicity, income level, and sexual orientation and gender identity continued in 2023 to be linked to differences in equitable experiences across a range of health-related issues affecting Californians, according to the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research’s latest California Health Interview Survey (CHIS).

On October 23, the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health hosted the Alumni Dinner and 2024 Hall of Fame Induction, honoring the dedication and collaboration of alums and friends of the school. 

The evening celebrated an accomplished group of UCLA Fielding graduates who are committed to addressing the public health challenges of our times.

2024_Fall_Fest

The Fall Fest gathering will be held at the UCLA Faculty Center, in the main dining room, on Monday, October 21, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. This will be an opportunity to connect with students, staff, faculty, and alums, and will include a photo booth, a Mariachi de Uclatlán performance and opportunities to win prizes.

The Jonathan Fielding Chair in Climate Change and Public Health —­ the first endowed chair at UCLA with climate change in its title — has been established at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health through a generous donation by Dr. Jonathan and Karin Fielding. Dr.

Vilsa Eliana Curto, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Health Policy at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a Faculty Affiliate at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. Dr. Curto is a health economist with an AB in Mathematics from Harvard, an MA in Economics from Stanford, and a PhD in Economics from Stanford. Before joining UCLA, Dr. Curto was Assistant Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr.
