Lawrence Platt

Larry Platt is a businessman, a lawyer and an expert in health system governance, strategic planning, executive succession planning, and philanthropic fundraising. He has been a board member at Cedars-Sinai since 2000, including a term as Chairman of the Board from 2011 to 2014, and he is currently Chair of the Cedars-Sinai Health System Board of Directors. Additionally, he has been on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group Board of Directors since 2005 and the health system's Accountable Care Board of Managers since 2012. In these roles, he led enterprise-wide strategic transformation at Cedars-Sinai, as Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Also, he launched one of Cedars-Sinai's most ambitious fundraising initiatives (raising $357 million for the Medical Center's research endowment), as Chairman for Cedars-Sinai's Discovering for Life Campaign. In addition to his roles with Cedars-Sinai, Larry is Chair of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Board of Advisors. He has served on the American Jewish Congress Board of Directors and is currently a member of the Music Center Leadership Council of Los Angeles, World Presidents Organization, and Young Presidents Organization/Santa Monica Bay Chapter. Larry is a Senior Partner at Strategy Advantage, a boutique consulting firm specializing in health care.

Russ Faucett

Russ Faucett, now retired, was President of Barrington Wilshire LLC and General Partner of Barrington Partners LP, investment companies that specialized in investing in the equity and debt securities of publicly traded U.S. and European companies in financial difficulty. In addition to his business and investment activities, Russ has worked with several non-profit organizations, assisting in their strategic planning and financial management. In 2003 the Faucett Catalyst Fund, a family foundation, was established to further these philanthropic interests, emphasizing social entrepreneurship in areas of environment and conservation, international economic development, and healthcare. Russ has non-professional interests in classical music, ornithology and conservation biology, and the challenge of international economic development. Russ has years of experiences in Latin America – climbing, trekking, birding, and working with the Organization for Tropical Studies (tropical biology) and Acción International (microfinance). Recently his focus has shifted from Latin America to sub-Saharan Africa, working with TechnoServe and the UCLA-DRC Public Health Program. Russ has a BA with Distinction in Physics from Pomona College and a MS in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
