FSPH Opportunity Awards (Block Grants)
Award Amount: $1,000 - $10,000
Awards Given: Multiple awards given annually by each department
Application Process: If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by your department.
Eligibility: For returning students in all departments pursuing a masters or doctoral degree, based on academic merit and personal achievements, financial need and dedication to public health.
Dowdle Award in Mental Health or Tuberculosis
Award Amount: Up to $35,000
Awards Given: One award annually
Application Process: Student application. Students will be informed when the application is available.
Eligibility: For continuing doctoral students with a demonstrated interest in mental health or tuberculosis and demonstrated service or work in the field of mental health or tuberculosis.
Roemer Award in Social Justice
Award Amount: $20,000 in the student’s final year of study
Awards Given: 1-2 Awards annually
Application Process: Students complete an application to be considered for this award. Students will be informed when the application period opens.
Eligibility: For continuing students working on topics of social justice with demonstrated financial need.
Anne Sullivan Reher Livio Award in the Protection and Well-Being of the Homeless
Award Amount: Up to $15,000
Awards Given: One Award annually
Application Process: Student Application. Students will be notified when the application becomes available.
Eligibility: To provide financial support for continuing students with a demonstrated interest in protecting and improving the well-being of the homeless and demonstrated service of work in the field of homelessness.
Carolbeth Korn Scholar Award
Award Amount: $10,000
Awards Given: One Award annually

Eligibility: For the most outstanding graduate student within FSPH, based on overall academic performance, professionalism and dedication to public health and who commits to two years of professional practice in the United States after graduation.
Celia G. and Joseph G. Blann Fellowship
Award Amount: $10,000 per award

Abdelmonem Afifi Student Fellowship
Award Amount: $5,000
Awards Given: One Award annually

Eligibility: For general academic excellence at the masters level combined with a well-balanced and humanitarian understanding of the field of public health.
Eleanor De Benedictis Award for Continuing Students
Award Amount: $5,000
Awards Given: 1-2 awards annually

Eligibility: To provide financial support for nutritionists or dietitians at the masters level who are pursuing graduate degrees in any of the School's departments and have demonstrated financial need.
Raymond D. Goodman Scholarship
Award Amount: $5,000 per award
Awards Given: Two Awards annually

Eligibility: For general academic excellence at the masters and doctoral levels.
Samuel J. Tibbits Fellowship
Award Amount: $4,000
Awards Given: One Award annually
Application Process: If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by your department.
Eligibility: For general academic excellence at the doctoral level and dedication to public health.
Student Public Health Challenge Award
Award Amount: $1,000 – 5,000
Awards Given: Six Awards annually
Application Process: Applications for this award are via an annual student writing challenge on a pre-determined topic. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by faculty from their home department based on proof of concept, foundations in public health, and the strength of argument. One finalist from each department will be selected to move forward to the oral presentation challenge delivered at the annual Lester Breslow Lecture. The winner receives $5,000; finalists receive $1,000 each.
Eligibility: All FSPH students are eligible to submit essays to the challenge.
Judith Blake Memorial Fellowship
Award Amount: $2,500
Awards Given: One Award annually
Application Process: If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by your department.
Eligibility: For general academic excellence combined with a strong commitment to the field of demography, population, and/or reproductive health as a career.
Juneal Marie Smith Fellowship in International Nutrition
Award Amount: $2,500
Awards Given: One Award annually

Eligibility: For general academic excellence to a graduate student who is pursuing a career in international nutrition.
Dean's Outstanding Student Award
Award Amount: $1,000 per award
Awards Given: One award per department annually

Eligibility: For the top student in each department, based on overall academic performance, professionalism, and dedication to public health.
FSPH Student Travel Grants for Conference
Award Amount: Up to $600 per award
Awards Given: Multiple Awards quarterly
Application Process: Students submit an application to the FSPH Student Affairs Office.
Eligibility: To qualify, you must be an FSPH student with an accepted abstract/poster/paper/presentation at a professional conference.
E. Richard (Rick) Brown Social Justice Award
Award Amount: $500
Awards Given: One Award annually
Application Process: If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by your department.
Eligibility: This fellowship supports an MPH or PhD student who conducts research and/or demonstrates policy advocacy to expand healthcare coverage for all.
The Beverlee A. Myers Fellowship
Award Amount: Varies
Awards Given: 1-2 awards annually
Application Process: Nomination by any FSPH faculty member. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by the department.
Eligibility: This fellowship is available to those Health Policy and Management students who exemplify scholastic excellence, personal integrity, and dedication to social justice and equity in health services. Preference will be given to doctoral students working on dissertations dealing with issues of social justices and secondarily to doctoral or master's degree students anticipating a career in the government sector.
Health Policy and Management and Community Partner Fellowship
Award Amount: $2,500-$5,000
Awards Given: Two awards annually
Application Process: Nomination by the Department of Health Policy and Management. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this award by the department.
Eligibility: For general academic excellence at the masters and doctoral level.
Ann G. Quealy Memorial Fellowship
Award Amount: $500
Awards Given: Two awards annually

Eligibility: Funds support one MPH student and one EMPH student each year who best demonstrate scholastic achievement and concern for others.
Levin-Gordon EMPH Scholarship

Eligibility: This award provides financial support for a promising second year student in the Executive Education Program based on academic achievement. Must be pursuing an MPH degree in the Executive Health Policy Management Program at the Fielding School of Public Health.
