    Assignment 

    • Continue adoption of competencies for core and departmental courses and programs to be evaluated by Evaluation Committee when considering course approvals and program changes.
    • Work jointly with Evaluation Committee to specify process by which competencies for DrPH degrees will be determined.
    • Review and approve departmental proposals for department specific MS and PhD competencies.
    • Continue ongoing review of course actions and program changes, particularly as they relate to school-wide (MPH and DrPH) degrees.
    • Discuss (with International Health Committee) creation of MPH degree with Global Health emphasis.
    • Develop strategies to accommodate students in professional schools who also want an MPH (e.g. PRIME-MD students); articulated degree or other method.

    Assignment 

    • Set policy, monitor and evaluate schoolwide undergraduate programs in the School of Public Health in accordance with Undergraduate Council bylaws as specified in Bylaw 65.1 of the Los Angeles Division. In exercising its functions under Bylaw 65.1, the Committee reports directly to the Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee which, in turn, reports to the Faculty Executive Committee.
    • In discharging this duty, periodically reviews and recommends revisions in undergraduate programs, and sets academic prerequisites for entry into undergraduate programs.
    • Explore how the SPH can participate in the proposed campuswide undergraduate major in global health.
