The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health celebrated 388 graduating students in a ceremony at Royce Hall.

UCLA Fielding recognized the accomplishments of its exceptional students in a ceremony attended by family, friends, students, faculty and staff.

The MDSH degree program currently has 92 students, with 39 in the class of 2026.

Dr. Catherine Sugar, professor in the Department of Biostatistics, has been elected to serve as vice chair for 2026-27 and is expected to serve as chair in 2027-28.

Dr. Marc Suchard, a physician and professor in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Department of Biostatistics, is being honored by the International Biometric Society.

Dr. Michele Guindani, professor in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Department of Biostatistics, will serve as interim chair of the department beginning on July 1, 2026.

Dr. Julio Frenk, chancellor of UCLA and a distinguished professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at UCLA Fielding, is also a fourth-generation physician.

Dr. Rebecca Delafield, whose research aims to fill the substantial gaps in maternal and perinatal health research in order to improve health and healthcare outcomes for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities, has been appointed the Jonathan and Karin Fielding Presidential Chair in Health Equity at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
